She was converted in private ownership to cruiser/racer spec with new carbon fibre rig, easier deck gear and when rigged for cruising she can easily be handled by two. The carbon theme continued below decks with accommodation for eight plus galley and heads.
In 2013 she was sold to another private owner who put her back into the racing circuit after 14 years and entered into Round the Island 2014. Despite the lack of wind around The Needles, she crept forward inch by inch and excelled in her group, winning two trophies. Proudly, the excited and somewhat dazed team accepted their trophies from Sir Ben Ainslie and the celebrations followed.
Juno IV was re-established as a true racer. Further investment and improvements followed and she was entered into Round the Island 2015. Conditions were perfect for this classic racer and again the team came in with a win.
With a newly found confidence and a lot of preparation, she was entered into FastNet 2015 with a new crew. Training and competing in the races leading up to the FastNet followed. Unfortunately, blighted by loss of sails she had to retire from the last race but with safe return of the crew and Juno IV it inspired the owner to continue entering races knowing she is still capable of turning heads and winning silverware. When she is not racing Juno IV can be chartered by experienced and beginner sailors alike for hands on corporate days and team building or simply for a sailing experience with a difference.
