HISTORY
MR TOOTS is a General Service Launch built by The British Power Boat Company in 1946 and used by the Royal Navy at Plymouth for target towing and general duties and then by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as a freight and crew carrier. She has a mahogany hull and a Foden FD4 diesel engine.
From 1957 to 1962, she was based at Southend and was then sold and moved to Brentford. She was sold in 1975 and converted to a houseboat and has remained on the Thames since then. The present owner is restoring her for personal use and also for not-for-profit public and community benefit.
